As I’ve mentioned before, the heart of this ministry is to help others be a blessing to their grieving friend.  So, just how does that happen?  What’s the “magic” that will move you from always dreading interactions with grieving friends to being that confident, selfless person your friends can count on to step into their pain with them?

Boy, wouldn’t it be great if it was a simple magic wand touch?  I don’t pretend that it’s necessarily an easy road, but I absolutely believe you will gather new insights from following this blog.

I am a Christian who believes that Jesus died on the cross for my sins.  I have a personal relationship with Him and it is the very essence of who I am.  You will find that I can’t help but come from that perspective or “world view.”  I have experienced too much of God’s leading and presence and faithfulness, especially since I became a widow, to not have that be evident in my writing.

My prayer is that you will take comfort in knowing that my strength and the lessons I pass along to you are a direct result of that relationship.

So, here’s a glimpse into the kinds of posts you’ll see:

1. PRACTICAL ADVICE – This might be what you’re looking for the most!  Lots of information on what to say, what not to say, what to do, what not to do.  Drawing not only on my own experience, but that of others going through difficult times, so it’s essentially the voices of experience speaking to you.
2. THE GRIEVING EXPERIENCE – While practical advice is so necessary, I believe it’s extremely helpful to also have an understanding of what the grieving person is experiencing. This will shed a bit of light into the dark world of deep grieving – not to be depressing, but to give you a bit of enlightenment and maybe some “aha” moments.
3. BIBLICAL INSIGHTS – I warned you! 😊  No way I can write this blog or carry out this ministry without a strong dosage of biblical guidance!  What does the Bible say about grieving?  What about God’s call to compassion?  And maybe even more importantly, what about the ways that God can and will equip you to be the hands and feet of Jesus to this hurting world?  I look forward to sharing these insights with you.
4. TRIALS – Everyone is either in one, just coming out of one, or headed into one!  And they come in SO many shapes and sizes.  So, we’ll look at how God works through our trials and teaches us things we’d never learn without them.
5. GUEST BLOGGERS – Over the past year or so, God has put SO many people into my life who have amazing stories of their own walk through trials. And equally amazing testimonies of God’s faithfulness to them in the midst of their valleys.  I hope to give some of these special people a voice to share their story through this ministry as well.
6. AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION – Yep, this is you! From time to time, I will ask the readers to share some of their experiences.  Maybe special stories of how someone blessed you.  Maybe lessons learned.  Maybe questions you would like to ask of me or the readership.  Maybe even something you were able to put into practice that you learned here!  Lots of possibilities!

So, that’s a deeper look into what you can expect through this ministry.  I hope you will feel enlightened, equipped, educated, and encouraged in the process, and maybe even challenged from time to time!
