I’m so excited to introduce you to my guest author for next week. His name is Thom Vines and he is a fellow “Pellican” (Pella, IA native for those of you unfamiliar with that term). Not only did we both hail from Pella, but he is a fellow believer and sadly, a fellow “survivor” of a very deep, painful loss which he will share in next Tuesday’s post.
Even though we were in high school at the same time (a few years apart), we connected through a mutual friend on FaceBook because she knew both of our stories.
Thom graduated from Central College in Pella and was the Deputy Superintendent at the Lubbock-Cooper Independent School District in Texas when his family’s life changed forever.
He is a speaker and published author, including the book he penned chronicling his most difficult journey. You can, in fact, find that book on the Resources page of my website. It’s entitled “A Parent’s Worst Nightmare” and it’s available on Amazon along with Thom’s other books. I would highly recommend it because it’s hope-filled despite the tragic story.
I am honored that Thom has agreed to share a portion of his story with my readership. I know it will be an encouragement to you as we continue on this path together of learning more about the grieving process and how to help those who are struggling.
Thank you, Thom!
